Pro – Chrysler Applications

mvpproWe have been faced with an obsolescence of a particular component within the Pro units. This component is used specifically to communicate with certain earlier Chrysler vehicles in conjunction with Dongle C.

To resolve the problem, we have developed a specific dongle (Dongle P – ADC178).

What does this mean?

New Units
All new units from the following serial numbers will be supplied with a Dongle P (ADC178).
MVP PRO / Premium Code    154967 to 159999
160292 >
AD100Pro    101177 to 129999
130460 >
T Code Pro    113394 to 139999
140050 >
Existing Units
All existing units in the field and any other units you receive with serial numbers previous to those listed above, will continue to use Dongle C.

Repairs
When a unit is repaired, and the fault is related to this Chrysler system, then the customer will receive a (free) Dongle P with the repaired unit.
I would suggest that each distributor who has Chrysler vehicles in their market, purchase a few Dongle P’s for stock. Then if you have a suspect faultily unit with a customer, you can send a dongle P out to check if it fixes the fault before sending the unit back. You can charge the customer for this dongle, as they would have normally had a repair charge if it came back to the UK.

Dongle P Cost
This will be the same cost as all other dongles, and will be added to the next order form release.

When using the Pro the specific vehicles/systems will be identified with a (P) afterwards, indicating the Dongle P is to be used. If no (P) is indicated, then the original dongle C will be used. If a customer uses the incorrect dongle, then a warning screen will also be displayed, advising the correct dongle to use. The software version for this needs to be 10.72 or above for Standard and Beta.

Shaun
